Sutherland – Ouberg pass

Our last day in Sutherland and the day before we left for home we headed for Ouberg Pass. The pass was one of two passes used by pioneering farmers of the area to reach the Roggeveld (rye fields) after which the Roggeveld Mountains in the Northern Cape are named. It was only built properly in 1968, and completed in 1969. The gravel pass is quite similar to Gannaga pass that we travelled two years ago, dropping you down into Tankwa. Once again it was a lovely drive and lots of pictures (mostly of flowers and Land Rovers 😉 ) were taken.

Please enjoy some of the last pictures.
