Even though it was a short day traveling wise we still had some memorable experiences. We left a wet and overcast Centurion but the further we traveled towards Zeerust the more it cleared up with only these amazing clouds everywhere.
Had to look for a gravel road to photograph Lani 🙂
A few kilometres before Zeerust after being robbed by SANRAL (R71 for a road in progress-grrrr) I raced past something that caught my eye and duly made a u-turn to meet Mr vd Westhuizen and his museum in progress.
This was an old primary school that is being restored, Some of the memorabilia brought back so many memories.
He was also collecting lots of other old stuff and if one has the time, hours can be spent browsing through the hundreds of old books, magazines and newspapers.
He is also collecting old farm implements and he plan to restore them to work again. Enough typing let us take you down memory lane with a lot of random photos.
We entered Zeerust and stayed over at a wonderful Guest House that was built in 1904. Otis made us feel very welcome and no request was too much of an effort.
The steak and chips he prepared was first class and we will definitely stop here again in future.
Tomorrow we have our long trek through Botswana and will most probably be out of comms for a few days. Will only post when we have 3g again in Namibia.
