So….
Day two arrived and we were ready early to cross the border at Stockpoort.
We had a long day ahead needing to cover about 800km from Stockpoort to Senyati. Charmain got her first taste of driving a gravel road with the Cheetah in tow. She did excellent even though the stretch of gravel was not always great and she did not miss one cow dung patty as can be seen on the front of the Afrispoor. 🙂
We did our usual garage stop every now and then, since the Lani is quite thirsty and does not have a huge fuel tank.
In Francistown we lost quite a bit of time trying to get sim cards, and the girls ended up making us some sandwiches in the parking area of the famous Botswana store called Choppies.
It was getting late and after filling up at Nata(again) we saw our first wildlife on the road to Kasane.
We arrived after dark at Senyati and we were all quite shattered after a long day. We had a trip planned to Victoria falls the following day, but with my shoulder still giving me carrots Charmain and I decided to stay in camp while Anton and Elfreda did the trip.
In our next post Charmain will make a new friend, Senyati will once again show why it is such an awesome place and we meet up with an old friend on the river.
