Our time at Senyati came to an end, and because of a cockup with our reservations we were not able to get our spot at Ihaha.
Exploring a new campsite can be a big surprise (good or bad).
We arrived at Muchenje, not sure what to expect, but wow what surprise. The staff is beyond friendly and the setting of our campsite was much more than we anticipated.
Ablutions were great and always clean.
Let me get the one negative of Muchenje out of the way and not a fault of Muchenje per se biut more due to their central location.
Because of the closeness to the river sound has a tendency to travel quite far. Being very close to the border and with quite a big population across the river the silence we hoped for at night was sometimes disturbed and quite annoying.
If it was not for this one negative, I would have given the campsite 10/10.
Nevertheless we had an awesome time at Muchenje and it is such a central spot for easy access to Chobe, Namibia and on the road to Savuti.
Our times in the camp were great and only topped by all the wildlife sightings in Chobe.
My shoulder was getting better every day and we were now properly into the rhythm of being on holiday.
The water level of the river was quite high and as per usual I had to take some pics of the Lani. 🙂
It is always special to see the lions, but the rest of the wildlife and birdlife was just as memorable.
Please enjoy some of our pics with us.
We bought a bunch of soccer balls and instead of sweets, dished them out to children next to the road as we travelled.
The sunsets were spectacular.
And I created a very short timelapse of the sunset, which can be viewed HERE!.
In our next post we will be leaving Botswana for a while and venture into the pan handle of Namibia.
