This will be our last post about the awesome time we had in Dubai.
No travel blog about Dubai will be complete without saying something about the buildings and the shops.
It goes without saying that the largest mall on the planet will be in Dubai and appropriately called The Mall of Dubai.
With more than 1200 shops it was the most visited building in the world in 2011.
In 2015 the mall was visited by 92 million people.
It was our first visit to an Ikea store and was blown away by the scale that this outlet operates at.
We also spent too much time in this candy store.
The apple store spans 2 floors with the most spectacular views from its balcony on the Burj Khalifa.
Here are some other random pictures taken inside and around the malls including an organic shop.
Carli and I tried to get some pictures of The Frame one early morning. Even though the sun did not play nicely we stumbled upon a stunning mosque and did grab some pictures of the frame.
I need to post some pictures of random skyscrapers mostly taken from inside the car while driving. Pictures can never convey how small one feels against these huge structures.
I want to end these postings of or trip to Dubai, with a huge thank you to the kids.
Tertius and Carli pulled out all the stops to make this an unforgettable experience and we can not thank them enough.
Apparently there is lots more to see so we will be back to explore more of this multi-faceted city and its cosmopolitan mix of people and cultures.
I do still need to make a short video clip about our time in Dubai so keep a lookout for that.
In our next posting we will be back in the Lani, fulfilling a trip that has been on the cards for 12 years.
