Above mentioned days were spent close to the sea, and we went for a very hot trip to an island just off the coast.
The island is home to some endangered species that is being rehabilitated, but unfortunately I did not spot any Dodos ????
But more about the island just now.
It was still overcast on day 4 and even though the light was not great we did grab some pictures and we spotted a sea snake we believe to be a Marbled sea snake.
Our trip to Ile aux Aigrettes was quite educational. It was magical to be in the presence of 1 of the only 44 pairs of Pink pigeons left in the world.
The Skink was also close to extinction but this lizard survived and is quite common on the island these days.
Some Ebony trees with their much sought after βblackβ dense centre portions of wood.
The Pink Pigeon.
After our hot excursion and with the weather clearing up we went to the beach to cool off. Tiny once again giving me something to photograph.
Fortunately he was not the only entertainment and I had another model strutting around ????
On Day 6 we will be driving up the East coast to do some more exploring.
